Privacy Policy

Memoire stores diary entries, photos and original voice recordings locally on your device. Different features handle data as follows: • Account and Profile: Google or Apple sign-in provides account identifiers, name, email and a profile photo URL where available. Firebase Authentication manages the account. Firestore stores your profile name, optional birth date and theme inventory. These account/profile records are separate from your personal cloud diary files. • Diary Cloud Sync: When your cloud account is connected and sync is available, entries, photos and attached recordings can be uploaded to your personal iCloud (Apple devices) or Google Drive (Android). These diary files are not stored on our own servers. The two storage systems are separate: using the same app login does not sync diary files between Apple devices and Android. • Usage Analytics: Firebase Analytics collects app interactions, installation/device identifiers and technical metadata to help us improve the app. Diary text, photos, recordings and AI drafts are not included in our analytics events. Analytics is not described as fully anonymous because identifiers can distinguish installations. • Voice and Writing Assistance: Supported versions can record audio and use on-device speech recognition and writing AI. There is no automatic server inference fallback. Recognition and AI suggestions may be inaccurate or change meaning. Automatic writing suggestions are off by default and require review and explicit application. Model preparation may download data.

• Local Storage: Diary records are stored in a SQLite database, with media files in app storage. Memoire does not add application-level database encryption; protection depends on device and operating-system security. • Cloud Storage: Personal diary files use your own iCloud or Google Drive account and its security controls. Apple-device and Android cloud stores remain separate. • Account Storage: Firebase Authentication and Firestore retain account/profile data, such as identifiers, name, email, optional birth date and theme inventory. • On-device AI: Transcription and writing inference use supported device APIs. Original recordings remain available if transcription fails; writing suggestions change the diary only after explicit application.

Memoire uses Firebase Authentication, Firestore and Analytics for account/profile management and usage measurement; Apple iCloud for Apple-device diary sync; and Google Drive for Android diary sync. Supported voice/writing features use Apple Speech and Foundation Models or Android on-device speech services and ML Kit. Preparing device models may involve a download. These providers have their own privacy policies. Personal cloud diary files are separate from Firebase account/profile data.

Diary files remain on your device and in your personal cloud account while you keep them. You can delete entries in the app. Account deletion is available in Settings and removes the Firebase account/profile and local diary data, including voice recordings; cloud cleanup requires the provider to be connected and reachable. You can also manage or remove synced files through your iCloud or Google Drive account. Because iCloud and Google Drive are separate, check each provider when managing data kept on both platforms. Analytics retention follows the Firebase/Google Analytics configuration and provider policies.

Memoire is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy within the app and updating the effective date.
